Hi Everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself and look forward to hearing from you and participating in some great conversation.
We run a travel agency that offers great discounts to exotic places.
Would love to hear your favorite place to vacation if you wouldn't mine sharing.
Warm Regards

A friend sent me the link to your website because of the "canteen" story from 1957 (the year I graduated from Crafton HS). That was a special place as you described. I recall a lot more dancing and a lot friendlier girls than your version but it brought back special memories. I just found this site and look forward to reading more of your stories. Keep up the good work!

Jack,
It was good seeing you also after so many years. I really enjoy visiting and learning about the history of various lighthouses although I'm not as dedicated as you obviously are. However, I don't miss visiting every lighthouse with which I cross paths. Since you are so close, we'll have to get together more frequently.
By the way, great web site.
Best regards,
Rick

Today as I research my geneology I read a letter from a Cary Hartman a Great Uncle to his son. The letter is written to give insight to the family history. In the letter I read about Regina being taken by the Indians and then later returned to her mother. Your story of course has more detail and some differences but also similar enough to know they are the sam account. It sparked me to do an internet search because the letter mentions that a monument was erected in Regina's memory. I was curious whether the monument still stands. That is when I located your site. I'm excited to find your story.

Hi Pa. Jack,
Well I now have read the Babes in the Woods. So sad to have to restort to that because he could not find a job. I have heard how hard it was during the depression to find a job, things were pretty bad back then they say.
My prayers are with them all. I pray they find eternal peace.

Glad to have found your website. I lived in Karthaus for 18 years and I had never heard the story of Clara Price. I was very glad to hear about her and also glad that Andrews paid for the crime.
I will be checking in with you from time to time to see what else I can learn about Pa.
Thanks again for telling the story about Clara. So sad to lose a life so young.

wow, I really enjoyed your site and several of your stories . I only found out about you from the Progress , where they had the Clara Price story. How sad , but it held my interest , I as a child lived in Karthaus , and never heard of the story . Anyway , just wanted to stop in and say hello and thank you .

Just finished reading the Clara Price story. A co worker had the article cut out of the paper and I looked it up. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to reading some of the other stories.

A Wall Street Journal article about the G20 in Pittsburgh referenced Joe Magarac and Google led me to your site. I worked at Armco steel in Butler during the summers when I was a Pitt student, so I enjoyed your explanation of Joe. Also in Pittsburgh, I used the Trollys as my main source of transportation.

I found your site while searching for info on Hairy John (Voneida) State Park near Woodward, PA. We have stopped at the park frequently on our way to Lewisburg, but never knew the story of Hairy John. Turns out to be very sad. From the photo's I have seen we missed a wonderful place to visit, when it was at it's prime.
I look forward to reading more of your stories. Always up for a good mystery of the past. Or ghostly spirits.

Enjoyed the stories - but hey, what abour sledriding down the hill at Ingram Park? That was death defying; a lunitic adventure that I am glad I tried and survived. Trees whizzing by, dried old jaggers grabbing at you coat - oh, the madness and the thrill.
It's a pleasure to see you and your new personnae, I know I would love to sit and listen. You share a special gift.
Best wishes, Connie

I enjoyed the story about the Sprague. In June or July 1959 700 boy scouts from Pgh. hiked the Forbes Trail from Ft Ligonier to Pittsburgh and on a Sunday afternoon had a celebration in front of the Big Mama. I am trying to find written stories about this journey. I was one of those boy scouts age 14, and that hike was a major event in my early life. As I no longer live in Pgh. I wonder if there is a 50 yr celebration of that event. Thank You
